Finance Manager FTC (12 month Maternity Cover)

Cranswick MK continues to achieve impressive production manufacturing growth, we have added a new major client to our key customer base of M&S and Tesco’s, and our market position is continually going from strength to strength.

As the Finance Manager you will support delivery of accurate financial reporting, both internal and external, in line with the company timetable. The role will Business Partner across several departments providing the right balance of support and challenge to optimise financial performance.

Utilising your extensive finance experience, you will aim to continuously improve processes and practices, ensuring ever increasing efficiency and accuracy.

*This is a 12 Month Maternity Cover position*

Key Accountabilities:

  • Calculate accruals / prepayments, prepare & post necessary journals to complete the month-end close within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure the timely and accurately reconciliate balance sheets, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Analise monthly performance vs. prior month, budget & prior year to drive the right actions.
  • Prepare submission schedules for Tagetik (Group consolidation software) for periodic accounts and budget/reforecast processes.
  • Business partner several departments, providing high quality reporting and planning of expenditure, supporting decision making and flagging risks and opportunities at the earliest opportunity.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost centre budgets / forecasts through fantastic Business Partnering.
  • Enhance the cashflow and balance sheet forecasts through Excel modelling and strong business awareness.
  • Complete due diligence on new suppliers/customers.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Assist with external and internal audit work.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager on ad hoc projects as required.
  • Any other task as reasonably requested by their line manager.

Knowledge/Skills/Behaviours:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Experience within similar size Business / Group would be advantageous.
  • Confident in IT systems and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines despite competing priorities.
  • Confident challenging the status quo with a view to improving the way things are done.
  • Naturally curious and happy to get involved in activities outside of their day-to-day responsibilities.
