Role Overview

The Senior Financial Reporting Manager will be instrumental in leading a high-performing financial reporting function. This role involves managing a dedicated team and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will ensure timely, high-quality financial reporting while driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 direct reports and up to 4 indirect reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Financial Reporting Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of IFRS financial statements for the organization and its various entities, including subsidiaries and associated bodies.
  • Audit Coordination: Oversee interim, final, and subsidiary audits in partnership with external auditors, adhering to established timelines.
  • Software & Systems Management: Manage and optimize the software tools supporting accounts production, ensuring updates and innovations are effectively implemented.
  • International Financial Management: Supervise international bookkeeping and financial statements, ensuring robust control processes are in place.
  • Process Optimization & Innovation: Drive continuous improvements across accounting and reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are clearly analyzed and documented.
  • Technical Accounting Expertise: Address complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance to team members and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Climate & ESG Reporting Support: Assist in the development of climate and sustainability reporting processes.
  • Investment Accounting: Supervise the processing of monthly investment portfolio valuation journals.
Candidate Profile

An ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to inspire confidence at all levels. You'll need a background in financial accounting and IFRS, along with experience in team management and process improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant CCAB accountancy qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting.
    • Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
    • Strong project and process management skills, with an aptitude for continuous improvement.
  • Skills:
    • High proficiency in IFRS and complex accounting matters.
    • Excellent relationship-building skills for effective collaboration.
    • Detail-oriented with strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
    • Experience with Microsoft Nav, Business Central, and CCH Tagetik is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with climate and sustainability reporting is a plus.
