Job Purpose
  • Oversee a diverse client portfolio, acting as their go-to person to handle queries effectively
  • Undertake tax planning and advisory work as a trusted advisor to a variety of clients
  • Support the provision of quality tax planning services, working closely with Directors and Partners
  • Overseeing WIP management by negotiating and raising fees
  • Aid the development of junior staff including reviewing work and providing training
  • Monitor team performance, identifying knowledge gaps and providing training as needed
  • Work directly with Directors and Partners to ensure deadlines and fee recovery targets are met
  • Building trusted client relationships, proactively handling queries and problem solving
  • Contribute at regular team meetings to drive the overall management of the tax department
  • Keeping up-to-date with tax knowledge, championing knowledge sharing across the team
  • Identify new business opportunities within your own portfolio and through networking

The Successful Applicant
  • CTA / ATT / ACA / ACCA qualified
  • Qualified by extensive experience would also be considered
  • A proven track record of managing a client portfolio within practice
  • Good people management skills, with experience of mentoring junior staff
  • Strong technical tax knowledge, with a bias towards compliance tax
  • Self-motivated, reliable and eager to progress
  • A team player but also able to work autonomously
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen and the ability to scope out new business opportunities
