We have a Fork Lift Driver role available at Milton Keynes for out client DS Smith.This role is ideal for someone who has 3-4 years of experience with Forklift for both Counterbalance and Reach experience in the previous roles.

Role: Fork Lift DriverLocation: DS Smith Packaging, Anderson Gate, Milton Keynes MK4 4AERate: £16 per hour Contract length: 3 months initial contract with high possibility of converting into a permanent positionShift Patterns: 4 on 4 off - 6 am to 6 pm, Days only; 40 Hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Forklift to load/unload trailers and transport materials and finished goods to various warehouse areas.
  • Follow all plant and safety standards including wearing proper PPE and LOTOTO procedures.
  • Loading and unloading of trailers.
  • Careful handling of finished goods.
  • Managing shipping and receiving work site.
  • Managing onsite storage and warehouse locations.Tie off bales of scrap and unload baler.
  • Weighing of scrap and inputting into weighing station.
  • Read and interpret Vendor Bill of Lading.Read daily truck lineups and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience operating Forklift and has valid tickects/license.
  • Experience with Counterbalance and Reach is a must. (Will accept in-house licence but must pass assessment)

Desirable requirements:

  • Must be a reliable, dependable and report to work on time for shift start as scheduled.
  • Must be able to handle product on/off pallets, understand pallet tag differences and special handling instructions.
  • Be able to understand customer specific shipping instructions.
  • Able to lift, bend, twist, pull and push up to 25 lbs. repeatedly.
