Atlas Workplace Services is seeking an experienced FM Estimator to join our team and support the preparation of competitive and accurate tenders, quotations, and cost plans for Facilities Management (FM) contracts. In this home-based role, youll enjoy the flexibility to work primarily from home, with occasional travel to the Milton Keynes office as required.

The FM Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring the growth and success of the business by delivering detailed and low-risk tender submissions that meet client requirements and align with Atlass quality and value-for-money (VFM) objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Preparation

  • Review and analyse tender documentation to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit clear, detailed, and accurate price build-ups for FM tenders, covering both input and output specifications.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to obtain VFM quotations from the supply chain, reviewing and selecting suitable options for inclusion in tenders.
  • Conduct site inspections, making detailed notes and taking photographs to inform tender preparation.
  • Use relevant specifications (e.g., SFG20, BICS) to accurately estimate costs for M&E, cleaning, and security services.
  • Assess TUPE data with HR representatives to ensure accurate pricing assumptions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Operations, and Finance teams, to finalise tender submissions.

Post-Tender Activities

  • Prepare for and participate in adjudication and post-tender meetings, explaining pricing assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead value engineering exercises with clients and internal teams where necessary.
  • Handover successful tenders to the Contracts team, ensuring all details are clearly communicated.

General Support

  • Provide day-to-day pricing support to Atlass departments, including small works orders (SWOs) and call-off works (CWOs).
  • Assist with material and subcontractor selection, proposing alternative methods or materials where appropriate.
  • Mentor and support technical trainees within the Estimating team.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Higher National Certificate in Construction, Building, or Business, or equivalent.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong management skills, including programming, planning, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel for record-keeping, data entry, and report writing.
  • Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical and numerate, with the ability to manage numerical data accurately.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Evidence of maintaining a professional and consistent approach.
