We are working on a retained basis with one of the key players in the UK gym sector, a business that is currently going through a great deal of positive change with ambitious growth plans for 2025. With the Head of Marketing going on maternity leave in March, we're happy to be involved in the search for a superstar to bring their passion and experience to the table and ensure momentum is maintained, and every opportunity maximised.

With an ideal start date in late February or early March, this maternity cover role reports to the CEO and has full accountability for the marketing function along with the delivery of critical commercial outcomes. Part of their impressive growth plan for 2025 includes launching a new business unit overseas, as well as getting the best results out of a brand new software stack.

It's likely you'll have:

  • A track record of success in a multi-brand environment
  • Execution of acquisition and retention campaigns across a range of off and on-line channels in both B2C and B2B arenas
  • Experience working with trade partners, affiliates or franchisees to drive business growth, preferably in a bricks and mortar business model.
  • A keen eye for detail and data - whilst the business is very entrepreneurial and nimble, their success is underpinned by an analytical mindset.

Along with top-notch marketing acumen, you'll be a strong communicator, able to influence and motivate both internally and externally. Presenting to dozens of stakeholders won't daunt you, nor will being called upon to produce articulate and compelling written communications. There'll also most likely be call for travel to Ireland and possibly slightly further afield. As a key player in the wellness industry, the company will appeal to anyone with an interest in health and fitness, although this isn't essential.

This role will see you working on the company's portfolio of brands alongside managing the central company brand. As well as being guardian of these brands, you will fine tune the principal drivers of new customer acquisition across the portfolio through campaign bursts, partner marketing and retention activity, whilst simultaneously positioning and driving the company brand in order to acquire new trade partners. You'll create and deliver the marketing calendar and manage partnerships and seasonal promotions. Leading a small marketing team and working closely with other internal departments, you'll also oversee key relationships with external agencies that contribute vital resource to your team's efforts.

The company thrives in a focussed, hands-on environment where everyone from the CEO down will roll up their sleeves to get the job done, as well as make the tea! The role is based in Milton Keynes with 2 days from home, so is commutable from across Buckinghamshire, parts of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
