We are currently recruiting for a Shipping Clerk to join a global company who have their UK Head Office based in Milton Keynes. This a fixed term contract role for 6-months, however, could be extended or lead to permanent employment. Please note, this role is fully office based, with NO remote working.
Working Hours: 08:00am - 16:00pm, Monday to Friday, 30 minute lunch.
Overview:
- The primary responsibility of the Shipping and Invoicing Clerk is to manage the outbound orders and invoicing function. The Clerk will be liaising with the freight forwarder, understanding and providing the required documentation, knowing and following the DOT and import/export regulations, and ensuring all system transactions and Invoicing are processed in a timely fashion
What you’ll do:
- Ensure the proper documentation has been provided to the provider and carrier based on customer, product, and DOT requirements.
- Verify, adjust, and maintain records on outgoing shipments and perform all system transactions to accurately reflect transportation activities.
- Communicate on a weekly/daily/hourly basis with the provider on orders (new, changed or cancelled).
- Work closely with the provider, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality and Operations to ensure customer requirements are being met and elevate issues as they arise.
- Interrogate data systems and generate reports for management reporting and using Microsoft Excel on a daily basis, to track order progress and analyse data.
- Work closely with Supply Chain Departments to provide daily support and absence cover when required
Requirements:
- Demonstrate a strong and independent work ethic with clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate a strong understanding and knowledge of warehouse and transportation operations and ERP systems.
- Excellent grasp of system transactions and their impact to the organization.
- Adapt at multitasking several high profile projects while managing time and delivering results.
- Must be detailed oriented and results driven.
- Good secondary education or degree.
