JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environment Manager with substantial HSE management experience, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment, a NEBOSH or Health & Safety qualification, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

As the Health, Safety and Environment Manager you will be responsible for managing Health, Safety and Environment Management systems and activities across all of the company’s Milton Keynes production and warehouse facilities.

Working as the Health, Safety and Environment Manager you will lead safety across all Milton Keynes operations, identifying hazards, reducing risk and preventing accidents.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Health, Safety and Environment Manager will include:

  • Advise all levels of the site, providing technical support and motivating stakeholders to follow proper administration of health, safety and environmental programs
  • Implement programs, apply relevant technical guidance and control physical, chemical, electrical, mechanical and ergonomic hazards and potential risk from the operations
  • Arrange Health & Safety training for all plant employees and communicate toolbox talks
  • Promote a positive HSE culture amongst all employee groups, engaging stakeholders when appropriate
  • Ensure internal HSE procedures and practices are monitored and audited
  • Facilitate a risk assessment programme for continuous review
  • Present incidents, near miss and injuries data for the management morning meeting and take corrective actions
  • Arrange external risk assessments and surveys
  • Ensure the management team undertake the management of change and impact assessments prior to variation effecting health, safety and environment
  • Participate in the management review process
  • Arrange a schedule of internal audits and reporting against the ISO45001 standard
  • Chair a programme of health and safety committee meetings

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant qualification in HSE, NEBOSH Diploma / certificate
  • Substantial Health and Safety management experience within a FMCG organisation (ideally packaging)
  • Experience of a multi-site role with exposure to a variety of production machinery and associated ancillary equipment
  • Experience of managing external parties and 3rd party contractors
  • Extensive Knowledge of health and safety standards working within ISO14001 and 45001 frameworks
  • Excellent MS Office user experience
  • Ability to analyse rules and guidance to assess business impact
  • Identify and analyse organisational needs with solid problem solving to provide pragmatic solutions
  • Line management experience
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people
