A Health and Safety Manager is required due to the continued growth within a well-established, award winning Roofing Contracting group. We are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager preferably with experience in the Construction Sector, to implement, maintain and manage key H&S deliverables and compliance as well as improve H&S, quality, and environmental performance across the business. This is a leadership role requiring someone with strong determination, a commercial approach and an attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong all-round H&S management experience, gained within either the Roofing or wider Construction Sector who is able to communicate and cooperate at all levels with project stakeholders and senior management to ensure all site H&S objectives are delivered effectively. Salary: Negotiable Dependant on experience + Company Vehicle / Allowance + Private Medical Healthcare  Location: Covering the South (Midlands & London Areas)  Job Description
  • Review all RAMS site documentation to always ensure accuracy and safe working on site
  • Building relationships and setting exceptional standards
  • A hands-on approach to assisting management and providing guidance in all Health and Safety matters.
  • Provide Legislative and regulation advice to the Management team on all matters relating to H&S
  • Liaise with registration bodies, customers and suppliers as necessary to resolve problems and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain the HSEQ management system, identifying and implementing initiatives for improvement, including all procedures, processes and safe systems of work, offering support and guidance on risk assessments, method statements, COSHH and RIDDOR.
  • Ensure effective site induction procedures are implemented and followed, prior to any work activity being carried out.
  • Undertake site audits and report findings with suggested improvements where appropriate
  • Investigate Health and Safety related incidents with operational management to establish root causes and preventative measures
  • Overall responsibility/ authority for all incidents and accident investigations.
  • Maintain a high level of professional knowledge and expertise in matters relating to HSE legal and other requirements
 Experience & Skills RequiredThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Proven experience working in a H&S Management role (preferably) in the Building Envelope, Roofing or Construction Sector
  • NEBOSH certified
  • Experience in maintaining ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 compliance
  • Knowledge of current UK HSE legislation
  • Experienced with COSHH
  • Influential and collaborative where needed to ensure that common goals are achieved, drive and determination to deliver in challenging situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, have a personable nature with effective and clear communication skills
