Sonic Summary

A Government agency is seeking a DevOps Engineer / Architect for a 6-month contract, offering a salary of £600-£700 per day, outside IR35.
The position requires 5 years of experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform within Azure.
The role involves designing, building, and deploying IaC scripts for various Azure services, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and DDoS Protection.
Candidates must have SC Clearance and will work in a hybrid model, spending 2-3 days on-site in Milton Keynes.
Documentation and knowledge transfer sessions are also part of the responsibilities, ensuring operational teams are equipped to manage the IaC platform.

Requirements:

Design, build and deploy new Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform platform in Azure
Output / Outcome:
Remit of IaC within Azure is Network and Policy scripted deployments. Output is to establish IAC scripts to deploy following Azure services:
Virtual Networks (vNets)
Subnets (Route tables configured to use Palo Alto Cloud NGFW for any traffic destined outside the local subnet, with intra-subnet traffic routed locally to avoid creating UDRs)
Azure PaaS Private Links (following the vWAN hub extension pattern)
Network Security Groups (NSGs) with static configurations
Virtual WAN (vWAN)
Virtual Hub
Spoke vNet Peering (including Home Office)
DDoS Protection
Provision of Palo Alto Cloud NGFW with dependencies (e.g., Public IPs, excluding PA configuration)
Provision and configuration of Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN instances (e.g., VPN gateway, VPN site, VPN gateway connection)
Provision of Palo Alto Panorama (excluding PA configuration)
Azure policy
Deployment of IaC platform that has the remit as stated above capable of supporting the test, production and DR services.
