Job description:
BO/BODS/Client Admin Platform Engineer
BusinessObjects (BO) & Data Services (BODS) Administration:

Server Monitoring & Availability: Monitor BO and BODS servers to ensure high availability, optimal performance and resolve any connectivity or server issues.

Web Application Management: Oversee the availability and performance of BO Web applications such as CMC, BI Launchpad, and other associated applications.

User & Permissions Management: Manage user roles, permissions and monitor user activities/sessions across BO and BODS environments.

Auditing & Event Management: Set up and manage auditing policies, events and alerts for CMS, Audit and Reporting Database services.

Job & Report Management: Handle the scheduling, monitoring and troubleshooting of report jobs via Instance Manager. Promote and monitor jobs from development to production.

Backup & Restore: Perform regular backup and restore activities for BO and BODS environments to ensure data integrity.

System Configuration: Configure and manage Universe, datastore connections, repositories, job servers and configure all Webi modules for optimal performance.

Server & Connection Management: Manage BO and BODS job servers, configure and troubleshoot RFC/adapter connections and ensure seamless integration and connectivity across both environments.

Performance Optimization: Apply SAP best practices to improve system performance, optimize load times, implement load balancing strategies and monitor database growth and health at the server level.

Installation & Upgrades: Handle installation, upgrades and troubleshooting of BO and BODS servers and services.

Availability & Support: Ensure high availability of the environments, respond to support issues raised by business users, and maintain system uptime.

Troubleshooting & OS Commands: Use strong knowledge of OS commands to troubleshoot server-related issues and ensure system stability.
Client Administration:

Storage & Structure Management: Allocate and manage storage, create, and modify database structures (tablespaces, tables, views, indexes).

User & Security Management: Enrol users, manage access, ensure security, and comply with Client licensing agreements.

Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize database performance.

Backup & Recovery: Implement and test backup and recovery strategies and maintain archived data.

Database Maintenance: Apply regular patches, perform migrations, and clone databases as needed.

Capacity & High Availability: Plan for capacity, scalability, and high availability

Automation & Troubleshooting: Automate routine maintenance tasks and resolve database-related issues
