Job Purpose:
Enhance the company’s success by delivering front line technical support on company systems to partners across the UK and Ireland, directly contributing to business growth and overall sales targets by providing practical support on fabrication and installation best practice for all products including aluminium & steel systems, digital solutions and project applications.
Working closely with our technical services, product management, training, engineering, sales and specification teams to provide market leading technical support, acting as 'Subject Matter Experts’ and supporting partner training on systems.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Team Leader to schedule site visits, prioritising based on urgency and location. Update and manage the booking and appointment system, ensuring all visits are coordinated and confirmed with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, reports, and customer interactions for reference and quality control.
- Perform comprehensive site inspections of installed systems to identify and troubleshoot fabrication or installation non-conformities. Deliver detailed visit reports outlining findings, root causes, and clear recommendations for corrective actions.
- Perform factory surveys for customers, offering recommendations on tooling and equipment to enhance the efficient production of systems.
- Investigate project or fabrication-related complaints, preparing comprehensive reports with findings and proposed solutions to address the issue effectively.
- Supporting the UK training department to provide training and hands-on support to partners and colleagues in the manufacturing of aluminium and steel systems, following order manuals, fabrication drawings, and guidelines specific to each system.
- Assist partners and product management team in the production of test samples for new or existing systems, including on-site installation and glazing at testing facilities. Oversee tests and capture all requirements through detailed reports.
- Act as the main point of contact for partners during on-site visits, providing professional advice and fostering strong relationships.
- Perform risk assessments for on-site activities and implement necessary precautions to ensure safety for all parties. Promoting best practices for health and safety during installation and fabrication procedures of systems.
Essential Skills:
- Proven industry experience, including that of site installation or Fabrication.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Desirable Skills:
- Proven experience of the manufacturing and installation of products
- A thorough knowledge of design principles
- Engineering qualification
- Use and programming of CNC machines for aluminium production.
Supporting Information:
- Role requires travel, within the UK and Europe, plus overnight stays during the week, often at short notice.
- Must have a clean and valid UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
