The Role:

This is an incredible opportunity to develop, lead and be responsible for managing all business data & reporting vertical for a new financial lending business. You will immediately recruit a small team of qualified data/reporting analysts who can deliver the data and reporting objectives of the business. You will also use your own technical skills to understand the current data infrastructure of the business and design the data reporting strategy.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar data role within the regulated lending sector or a close equivalent in the financial sector.
  • Proven ability to lead and structure the appropriate technical resources, to ensure reporting requirements are met.

Role responsibilities:

The right person for this role will have experience in the delivery of the following tasks and objectives, via leading a technical team:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, to deliver relevant and timely data to users, maintaining a robust data infrastructure that integrates all the applicable data sources and uses the appropriate data queries and transformations, to enable accurate data to be accessed.
  • Deliver a robust, comprehensive suite of operational and business reporting; enabling the senior leadership team to monitor, manage and project business performance across all departments.
  • Provisioning regulatory and investor reporting; ensuring the needs of our regulator(s), investors and external stakeholders are met with immediacy and accuracy.
  • Supporting the needs of the Finance Team by providing a strong, stable and accurate reporting infrastructure from which they can draw data from + provide guidance on how to streamline and improve their reporting practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical, architectural documentation so that the business is not exposed to any key man risks, governance or security risks.

Notes:

  • Whilst this is not a developer role, in the long-term it is essential you have technical experience of BI, Data Visualisation, advanced analytical techniques, machine learning and LLMs, in order to lead and ensure technically sound decisions are being made.
  • Ideally you will have previously worked in a technical role, so that you can reduce the key man risk in your team and 'jump in’ when your team needs support.
  • You must be extremely competent managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
