Engineer - Up to 50K - Milton Keynes

Role Description

We are looking for an Engineer reporting to the Project Manager to assist in the smooth running of a Defence Contract, this is a permanent role, with the initial project lasting 3 to 5 years.

The successful candidate will need to work with the Project Manager and the Design Manager (System Design Authority), coordinating with customers, suppliers, external bodies as well as the internalsenior management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing new rugged power protection products, both electrical and mechanical, using Inventor/AutoCAD software.
  • Supporting the development of design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality in accordance with project or business milestones
  • Supporting the development and management of requirements specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform or programme
  • Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
  • Work with the engineering team to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise

Skills, knowledge and experience

The ideal candidate will have the following key skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification within a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product an academic basis underpinning the discipline.
  • Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle with experience of operating in the phase relevant to the role and awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices.
  • Experienced in using Inventor/AutoCAD software .
  • Successful candidate will be required to undergo DBS and BPSS checks to secure the role.
