AJ Chambers are thrilled to be working with a Legal 500 firm based in Milton Keynes who are looking at growing their reputable Family team.

My client are looking for a candidate with 5 years PQE, that should be hard-working, outgoing and a good team player with experience of working in a city or medium/large provincial practice. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the Property Litigation members of the Commercial Litigation team. Experience also in Property Litigation is desirable but not necessary as full training will be given. So, if you are interested in broadening your skillset, this could be the ideal role for you.

Your experience will look like:

· All aspects of leadership and management for the Family department.

· Conduct of matters on behalf of clients in family law and related matters.

· Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team.

· Management of support services for the team.

· Maintaining orderly and up-to-date files including electronic files and complying with the company’s policies on file management.

· Completing time recording and other management records required by the company.

· Cross-referring work and clients within the company.

· Ensuring compliance with the company’s policies including LEXCEL compliance.

· Financial control including managing the cash flow for the team through efficient billing and payment procedures.

· Recognising fee-earning opportunities and developing those opportunities.

The skills you will have:

· Responsible for all aspects of Family Law work including providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members

· Ability to manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities

· Assisting with delivery of appropriate training and development in the department

· Variety of duties including dealing with a range of Family work including divorce; financial disputes and remedies; international elements of child abduction/ adoption; injunctions/non molestation orders and providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members

· You will have a professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and be interested in Business Development and Marketing to supplement the substantial work volumes brought in by the company

· Negotiation skills.

· Organisational ability.

· Ability to work unsupervised in due course.
