Solicitor - Private Client

  • Location: Bedfordshire (Hybrid working available)
  • Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday - Friday

We are recruiting for a Private Client Solicitor with 5-6 years PQE to join our client's well-established Wills, Trusts, and Probate Team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner passionate about delivering exceptional client care and interested in further career progression.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide detailed inheritance tax and estate planning advice, particularly for Wills and Trusts.
  • Advise on the application of agricultural and business property reliefs.
  • Handle various tax reliefs applicable to trusts and estates.
  • Draft Trust provisions for testamentary and Intervivos trusts.
  • Take instructions for complex Wills and draft provisions to reflect clients’ objectives.
  • Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including preparing returns to HMRC for probate.
  • Take instructions, draft, and handle the registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
  • Contribute to marketing our services and supporting the firm’s corporate objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge required for Wills, Trusts, Probate, and Estate Administration while remaining Lexcel compliant.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5-6 years PQE in Private Client work.
  • Extensive experience in Will writing, Probate, Administration of Estates, and Trusts.
  • STEP qualification or accreditation is an advantage.
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to work effectively within a diverse professional team.
  • Proficient with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong autonomous working capabilities, producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proven business development skills with a comfortable approach to networking.
