ICAEW is one of the biggest professionals' regulator with responsibility for regulating Chartered Accountants. The Professional Conduct Department plays an important regulatory role in maintaining standards and the reputation of the profession. It comprises a team of experienced lawyers and accountants who assess, investigate and present cases to the Regulatory Committees and the Disciplinary Tribunals.

ICAEW is seeking to recruit into its Legal Team due to increased workloads. The Legal Team has a very diverse case load, which includes preparing and presenting cases to ICAEW's various committees and providing advice to the Conduct Department on the scope and conduct of disciplinary investigations and on a wide range of other issues affecting ICAEW as a regulator.

The suitable candidate will:

  • Be a qualified lawyer in either civil or criminal litigation or in working for a professional regulatory body
  • Have some advocacy experience
  • Be a good team player with the ability to work in an agile and collaborative way
