ICAEW Insolvency Reviewer

Our insolvency reviewer role is a JIEB qualified position within ICAEW's Quality Assurance Department (QAD), and the successful candidate will also have extensive practical experience of working on a range of insolvency cases. You will work as part of a team of individuals dedicated to upholding quality and working to high standards.

Role Profile

Conduct reviews of insolvency practitioners and to members in practice and report on the findings. Drive continuous improvement in quality of work to ensure it is of the highest standard. Ensure delivery of KPIs through effective workflow management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting visits in a professional and sensitive way, establishing effective relationships with insolvency practitioners and members and gaining their trust and respect.
  • Identifying and analysing findings and providing constructive advice to insolvency practitioners and members.
  • Planning and prioritising own work effectively. Being responsible for the quality of your own work, ensuring that it is accurate and error free first time.
  • Understanding the quality standards that apply to your own work.
  • Taking action to develop own skills and knowledge and keep up to date.
  • Taking ownership of effective writing; minimising editorial changes in reports.
  • Helping insolvency practitioners, members and stakeholders by connecting them with other parts of ICAEW when appropriate.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

  • JIEB qualified with up-to-date technical insolvency knowledge and practical experience of handling insolvency cases
  • Knowledge of the accountancy profession and its current challenges including the oversight of the profession.
  • Thorough understanding of work undertaken by insolvency practitioners, members and firms.
  • A full understanding of regulations, guidance and standards affecting QAD's service lines of insolvency, Practice Assurance, Designated Professional Body (investment business) and legal services (probate).
  • Highly developed people, organisational and time management skills.
