A leading company in the fitness equipment industry is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Inventory/ Merchandise planner. The role is central to overseeing procurement operations, managing inventory, and enhancing supplier relationships to support our diverse portfolio of businesses.

Day to day of the role:

  • Collaborate with Trading Teams to analyse sales trends and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure updated lead times and manage expectations.
  • Handle the creation, processing, and updating of purchase orders across systems such as Sage 200.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify purchasing needs, and maintain alignment with key stock KPIs.
  • Coordinate logistics with sea freight and delivery providers to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
  • Contribute to the management of supplier agreements, establish KPIs, and monitor performance for compliance.
  • Identify and implement potential cost-saving and process improvements by reviewing suppliers and internal processes.
  • Maintain accurate product pricing in internal systems and generate relevant reports as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within merchandising.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and systems such as SAGE, or similar platforms, is advantageous.
  • Proficient negotiation skills for securing favourable terms with suppliers and logistics companies.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
  • Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for efficient interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Quick learner with the ability to process and assess information swiftly.
