The Role:

  • As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient operation of plant and machinery. Your duties will include:
  • Maintain Equipment: Ensure all plant and equipment are kept in optimal condition, providing a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Respond to Breakdowns: Quickly identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Fault Finding: Perform detailed PLC fault-finding at both input and output levels, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Address any concerns raised in in-house HACCP audits to maintain high standards of production and safety.
  • Out-of-Hours Support: Be part of the on-call rota, offering support during breakdowns outside of normal working hours.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement a proactive approach through regular PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), ensuring long-term equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, keeping the production process efficient and minimizing disruption.

What You'll Bring:

  • Qualifications: BTEC/ONC in Electrical Discipline or a Multi-skilled Engineering qualification.
  • Certifications: C&G 2330 Level 3 Electro-technical certificate and NVQ 3 in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Experience: A time-served apprenticeship or HNC in electrical, mechanical, or production maintenance engineering is desirable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You'll need a proactive, solution-focused approach to breakdowns and maintenance issues.
  • Hands-On Experience: Solid electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair experience in an industrial environment.
