Job Title: Development Engineer

This global employer based in Buckinghamshire is a leading network innovator, dedicated to delivering cutting-edge infrastructure solutions and products to a diverse market.  Due to continued growth is now seeking a talented Development Engineer to join an established, dynamic team of engineers and solution architects. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and complimented by manufacturing design skills and expertise. Your knowledge and experience when working with various materials will be greatly appreciated, with proven expertise in SolidWorks/CAD and a passion for developing and designing sustainable and environmentally friendly product solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all NPD (New product development)
  • Working from initial product conception through to completion and in collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, and solution teams
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks/CAD
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
  • Conduct simulations and analysis to validate NPD designs.
  • Ability to perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Create detailed technical drawings and relevant documentation in line with ESG strategies
  • Participate in prototype development and testing
  • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance and reliability
  • Validate and measure results, defining necessary product improvements to meet customer specifications
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in mechanical manufacturing design

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing design engineering.
  • Proven expertise in SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) for all communication, reporting, and documentation
