Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing team of engineers and designers working on a range of actuators, to provide special product design proposals to satisfy the customer’s technical and commercial needs whilst ensuring conformance to safety, quality and relevant National and International standards.

You will work closely with all Manufacturing functions to ensure designs align with corporate best practice and are engineered for efficient manufacture at the manufacturing facilities based in the UK and Europe.

You will also support our European subsidiaries with technical enquiries, troubleshooting product failures, market research and product testing.

Requirements

• Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering degree or Mechanical Engineering qualification (minimum HND level)

• Electrical knowledge (Basic principles)

• 3-D modelling experience, preferably SolidWorks

• To be able to manage a dynamic workload and have a flexible approach to t role

• Work well as an individual or within a group

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Manage multiple projects under supervision of a senior designer or engineer

• Understanding of electro-pneumatic control including circuit diagrams

Desirable, but not essential skills:

• Design experience of Jigs, fixtures, tooling, mechatronics or special purpose machines
