Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

Working on the design of cutting-edge products, you will lead a team of talented engineers developing a complex product for mass manufacture. The company is at a pivotal stage, now starting to generate revenue with global customers who continue to be amazed by the innovation behind the technology.

Although this is a management role, you will still need to be heavily involved in the design process on a day-to-day basis. The product is complex, involving the design of enclosures that house electronics, software, and optics, so it is essential to have experience working with intricate precision products.

You will lead a team of five, working closely with the Director of Product Development and other cross-functional engineering teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with external manufacturing partners and senior-level customers.

For this role, the ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in designing complex electro-mechanical products

Plastic and sheet metal design experience

A background in taking products to mass manufacture

Desirable but not essential: experience in the automotive or optics industries

A good understanding of electronic components and tolerancing GD&T
