JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Mechanical Engineer: You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and ensuring the operational functionality of critical mechanical systems within the facility. You will work closely with the facility's management and maintenance teams to manage and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, ensuring the ongoing safety and security of both staff and inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other facility equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Create and maintain detailed reports of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage and oversee the installation of new equipment and systems as needed.
  • Train and support prison staff in the use and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Participate in audits and inspections to ensure the facility's compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
