Join a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries across the UK. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide essential support within our neurobehavioural model at our facilities in Milton Keynes. This role is an opportunity to work as part of a dynamic multi/interdisciplinary team, helping individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI) to regain lost skills and meet their personal goals.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work autonomously within a specialist clinical area, under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist, focusing on neurological rehabilitation.
  • Manage and prioritise a caseload of individuals with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Complete the Occupational Therapy process using evidence-based and service user-centred principles to assess, formulate treatment plans, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Address occupational performance and skill deficits to enable service users in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, education, and leisure.
  • Develop and monitor programmes of care, ensuring effective handover to rehabilitation support workers or therapy assistants.
  • Carry out detailed risk assessments, regularly review and update these assessments, and effectively communicate changes with the team.

Leadership responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated workload with supervision, identify priorities, and effectively manage time and resources.
  • Support and challenge others to maintain health, safety, and security at work.
  • Promote the profession and the organisation, and develop partnerships across organisational and agency boundaries.
  • Contribute to the clinical governance arrangements and quality agenda of the occupational therapy and clinical specialty.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to engage empathetically with service users and their families.
