Job Opportunity - Band 6 MMT Pharmacy Technician required - Locum Position - ASAP start!
An NHS Hospital in Buckinghamshire is urgently seeking a Band 6 MMT Pharmacy Technician for a locum position, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic team at an NHS facility. The role is set for a 6-month period, with flexibility in working days—candidates can work 3, 4, or 5 days per week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break.
Role Details:
- Position: Band 6 MMT Pharmacy Technician (Locum)
- Location: NHS Hospital, Buckinghamshire
- Duration: 6-month contract
- Working Days: 3, 4, or 5 days per week (flexible)
- Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
- Rate: £24 - £26.50 per hour via Umbrella (depending on experience)
- Free Parking: Available on-site
- Ward-Based: The role will primarily involve working on the wards, so prior ward experience is ideal.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Medicine Management: Overseeing the safe and effective use of medicines on the wards, including medication reviews and patient-specific prescriptions.
- Medication Dispensing & Supply: Preparing and dispensing medications for patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.
- Patient Counselling: Providing medication-related advice to patients and ward staff, helping to educate on proper usage and potential side effects.
- Medication Records: Maintaining accurate medication records and ensuring they are updated consistently in line with hospital guidelines.
- Support to Clinical Teams: Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to manage patient care and contribute to ward rounds.
- Stock Control: Managing the inventory of medicines on the wards, ensuring appropriate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Clinical Support: Assisting in the review of prescriptions, ensuring that medication choices are appropriate and advising where necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience: Ward-based experience is highly preferred.
- Qualifications: Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician (MMT experience is advantageous).
- Start Date: ASAP.
