Assistant Psychologist (Fixed Term 12 Months)

Join a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries across the UK. We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to provide psychological support to our neuro-rehabilitation programme in Milton Keynes. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the field of neuropsychology.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to monitor and analyse behavioural data.
  • Collect and present behavioural data at weekly clinical team meetings.
  • Assist in behavioural modification, including writing and maintaining guidelines and supporting staff in their implementation.
  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and present findings.
  • Support individual service users through weekly meetings and specific activities.
  • Produce and present behavioural and emotional progress reports for review meetings.
  • Participate in group work sessions, such as anger management and life skills training.
  • Provide training and support to the wider staff team, including induction and weekly tutorial sessions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Clinical Lead, Clinical Team, and wider staff team regarding the behaviour management programme.
  • Undertake additional duties as specified by Brainkind, appropriate to the grade of the post.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Upper Second Class Honors Degree (2:1) or higher in psychology or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for BPS (British Psychological Society) graduate registration.
  • Ability to present and teach others effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Experience working with adults with complex disabilities.
