A rapidly expanding and successful group that encompasses all aspects of the meat trade, we are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join our Operation Covering the South of the UK.

Our business, which is a catering butcher, has over 100 years of experience in the meat and farming industries. All products are prepared in the factory at Manchester daily to each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation and then delivered directly throughout the UK.

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager your primary role will be to assist in managing existing clients and to build strong client relationships. The main purpose of this role is to improve the business's market position and achieve sales growth.

The role holder will call on clients, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services to meet or predict their client's future needs.

Covering the South of the UK the post holder will be dealing with independent hotels and restaurants, the education sector and Hotels, Restaurant and Pub groups in an account management and business development capacity.

The primary responsibility of the role holder is building and maintaining key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities and maintaining an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

The role holder will work with the National Account Managers on existing clients to grow sales in existing and nominated accounts. They will find potential new customers and convert them into clients and also help to manage existing clients to ensure they stay satisfied and positive. The post holder will call on clients, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services to meet or predict their client's future needs.

This role will involve working remotely and include travel to Head Office in Manchester on occasion as required. There is an office available to work from in Milton Keynes.



Main Responsibilities include

  • Working with National & Regional Account Managers to grow & develop existing accounts
  • Prospecting potential new clients and turn these into increased business
  • Cold calling as appropriate within your geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Identifying potential clients and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Researching & building relationships with new clients
  • Presenting new products & services to enhance existing relationships
  • Working with technical staff and other colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Identifying opportunities with existing customers that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using existing knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Submitting weekly reports, ensuring that data is accurate
  • Tracking and recording activity on accounts and helping to close deals to meet targets
  • Understanding the company's goals and purpose to continually enhance the company's performance
