Quantum Scholars is excited to work with a vibrant secondary school in Milton Keynes, seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join their dynamic school from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Science and committed to nurturing the academic growth of students. The ideal candidate for this role will have a right to work in the UK and have significant amount of UK based experience teaching Science to ages 11-16 years old.

The school hiring are based in Milton Keynes. They have a welcoming and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to excel both academically and personally. They're a improving school with "Good" ratings for leadership and management and personal development. They have a sixth form which is also rated "Good" by Ofsted.

Role Overview: As a Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of scientists, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to teach A-level Science, depending on experience and departmental needs. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and early-career teachers looking to further develop their teaching practice within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet the needs of a diverse student body. Ensure lessons are interactive, stimulating, and designed to foster a love of Science.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of methods (including quizzes, practical assessments, and written tasks) and provide constructive feedback to help students improve and achieve their full potential.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages students to take responsibility for their learning.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Science curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with national standards.
  • Support & Mentorship: Provide support to students with varying abilities, identifying individual learning needs and providing appropriate interventions where necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Science teachers and other school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience for students.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development, including school-based training and external opportunities, to enhance your teaching practice.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science).
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience with A-level teaching is an advantage but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for Science and a strong desire to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with developments in Science education.
  • Must have a right to work in the UK!
  • Must be available for September 2025.
