We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in helping to shape the learning experiences of our pupils and supporting the teaching team to create an inspiring environment for education.

About the Role:As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils. You will work closely with teachers to plan, deliver, and assess lessons, as well as lead small groups or cover whole classes as needed. Your experience and expertise will help ensure that every child reaches their full potential, both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading small group sessions and interventions to boost pupil progress
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Covering classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs to ensure they are fully included in the classroom
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider school team to monitor pupil progress and provide tailored support
  • Contributing to the development of lesson plans and resources
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all pupils

About You:We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to making a difference. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • The ability to manage and motivate pupils in a classroom environment
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with a willingness to undertake further training if needed
