A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Student Support Leader to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is available on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a Student Support Leader, you will play a key role in providing pastoral and academic support to students, ensuring they feel safe, engaged, and motivated in their learning environment. Working predominantly with Year 7 (KS3) students, you will support their transition into secondary school, helping them navigate challenges and develop positive attitudes toward their education.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, particularly those in Year 7 (KS3).
  • Offer academic and emotional support to students who may need additional help.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure student well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and attendance, addressing any barriers to learning.
  • Support students with any safeguarding concerns, ensuring school policies are followed.


Requirements

To be considered for this Student Support Leader role, you must have:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Experience working in a UK classroom and secondary school setting.
  • Relevant pastoral and student support experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
