Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People

Salary - 12-13 per hour

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Residential Support Worker for a SEMH residential children's home in Milton Keynes. You will play a crucial role in the day-to-day care and support of the residents, working to ensure their safety, well-being, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in the home.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Support the emotional, social, and educational development of the children and young people.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, personal care, and recreational activities.
  • Promote and encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the residents.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting.
  • A relevant qualification in social care, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce). Or be willing to work towards this
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine passion for working with young people.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check (to be conducted as part of the recruitment process).
