Senior Java Full Stack Engineer - Public Sector IT SolutionsLocation: Hybrid - Milton Keynes, RemoteType: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities
Backend-Focused Technical Skills:Expert-level Java development, with a deep understanding of Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.Strong experience with database design, SQL optimization, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle).Proficiency in API development and integration, including GraphQL, gRPC, and OpenAPI standards.Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions).Experience in cloud-based deployments, preferably in AWS, Azure, or secure private cloud environments.Strong DevOps mindset with experience in monitoring, logging (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana), and performance tuning.
Front-End ExposureGood understanding of React, TypeScript, and front-end development.Experience working on API contracts and optimizing performance for front-end applications.
System Architecture & DeploymentWork on secure cloud-based solutions, deploying services in private cloud environments.Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.Ensure adherence to DevOps best practices, including monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.
Security & ComplianceDevelop secure, compliant, and scalable backend solutions in line with UK government security policies.Implement authentication & authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2, JWT, and role-based access control (RBAC).Work within air-gapped and high-security environments to deploy and maintain critical systems.
Full Stack CollaborationIntegrate backend services with React-based front-end applications.Optimize API performance and usability for front-end developers.Contribute to full-stack architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
Agile Development & TeamworkParticipate in Agile/Scrum development cycles, collaborating with solution architects, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders.Support code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring to improve team performance.Document software processes, ensuring maintainability and best practices.
