SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs School)

Location: Milton Keynes , MK18Salary: £85-£100 per day , based on experienceContract Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a passionate, patient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our experienced team. In this role, you will provide vital support to children with a variety of complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key part in ensuring every child has access to an engaging, inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with complex SEN
  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each child's needs
  • Support classroom activities, ensuring all children are engaged and progressing
  • Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages independence and self-confidence
  • Help with personal care, mobility, and communication as needed
  • Liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for the children
  • Assist with classroom preparation, activities, and management

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a school or care environment
  • A calm, compassionate, and patient approach to working with children
  • A commitment to supporting children with complex needs in a nurturing and aspirational environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and the school
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (due to the school's location)
