Mayday Education are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistants to provide essential support to children with special needs in Milton Keynes. We have both short-term and long-term positions available, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these students.
You will be working with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans. As a key member of the team, you will provide vital support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in various learning contexts. Your expertise will empower students to achieve their educational and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and support children with special educational needs in their learning and development.
- Provide one-on-one support and small group sessions to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promote independence and social integration for SEN students.
- Collaborate with the school staff and parents to ensure the best possible support for each child.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Help students with personal care, mobility, and other physical needs as required.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred but not essential.
- A caring and empathetic nature with a strong desire to help children with special needs.
- Patience, resilience, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is a plus.
