About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in a primary school setting. This role involves working closely with children who have additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental challenges. You will play a crucial role in supporting their educational and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN.

Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.

Support the emotional, social, and educational needs of students.

Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Management Plans (BMPs).

Encourage independence and build self-confidence in pupils.

Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure student progress.

Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff.

Support pupils during activities such as sensory play, physical education, and creative arts.

Assist with personal care needs when required, ensuring the dignity and well-being of the child.

Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Adapt and modify resources to meet individual learning needs.

Foster positive relationships and manage challenging behaviours in line with school policies.
Requirements:

A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Minimum of 6 months' experience in a UK school setting.

Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a classroom environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
Desirable:

Relevant qualifications in SEN support or childcare.

Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.

Experience working with children with complex needs or learning disabilities.
