SEND Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join my clients school team for a temporary position from March to June. This role involves working with a 6th form secondary class, providing specialised support and fostering a positive learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences tailored to special educational needs.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives specific to SEND students.
- Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and enforce school rules.
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role within a secondary or special education setting.
- Strong understanding of the specific needs of SEND students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility.
