We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join my clients school team for a temporary position from March to June. This role involves working with a 6th form secondary class, providing specialised support and fostering a positive learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences tailored to special educational needs.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives specific to SEND students.
  • Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and enforce school rules.
  • Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role within a secondary or special education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the specific needs of SEND students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and flexibility.
