As an Indirect Category Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving procurement strategies across four key sites, ensuring cost efficiency and supplier performance.Your new roleAs the Indirect Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of services-based categories such as HR and IT across four sites: Milton Keynes, Cambridge, North Yorkshire, and the South Coast. While most of your time will be required in Milton Keynes and Cambridge, the role offers hybrid working opportunities with occasional travel to all sites.Key responsibilities include:* Developing and leading procurement strategies for non-engineering categories to ensure cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.* Conducting market research and supplier benchmarking to identify best-value suppliers and contract opportunities.* Leading competitive tenders, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.* Managing category and supplier relationships, ensuring long-term service quality and commercial performance.* Identifying cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.* Engaging with site-specific procurement managers and operational teams to ensure alignment with site needs.* Providing leadership and mentorship to the procurement team.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:* A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).* CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred.* Proven experience of managing high-value, high-risk procurement within various sectors across a range of Indirect categories* Strong strategic procurement leadership skills, with expertise in category management, cost reduction, and supplier negotiation.* Financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-pound procurement budgets.* Advanced negotiation skills and the ability to secure long-term, value-driven supplier agreements.* Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and standards.* Proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP or SourceDogg.* Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.What you'll get in returnIn return for your expertise and dedication, you will receive:* A competitive salary of up to £51,875.* A 5% bonus.* Company car or car allowance (£380 per month).* Up to 6% contributory pension.* 24 days annual leave.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation and make a significant impact on its procurement strategies.
