We are working with a Social Housing provider who are looking to recruit a Damp, Mould & Disrepair Surveyor on a permanent basis.

This a home-based position with the requirement for you to attend visits within your designated patch.

The organisation is taking a reactive and proactive approach to these issues by creating a designated team to purely deal with this area of the business.

Reporting to the departments’ Service Manager, duties will include:

  • Working closely with colleagues across the organisation to provide a rounded service to the customers.
  • Day to day management of damp, mould and disrepair cases through to resolution by carrying out inspections for diagnosis, ordering works, and tracking.
  • Work closely with geographical teams to instruct responsive repairs contractors.
  • Provide customer service that is efficient in terms of delivering resolution and next steps.
  • Investigate and resolve construction/building related defects to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.
  • Operational responsibility for the delivery of all damp, mould and disrepair maintenance activities within the organisation.
  • Contribute to performance reports and attend performance reviews with partners to enable feedback and proactive actions on team delivery and efficiency.

You will work alongside the area surveyors in the organisation that work the same patch, as well as the partnering contractors, and the solicitors in relation to the disrepair legal cases.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience of delivering a maintenance service having worked for a Housing Association or Local Authority
  • Good understanding of Decent Homes requirements
  • Knowledge of building components, diagnosis of building defects, building/contract law, building regulations, housing law.
  • Educated to minimum HNC level or equivalent professional experience / qualification in construction, , or property.
  • A full UK driving license / car with the ability to drive as and when required by the business.
