Server and StorageSupport Team leader required by my large UK client. As the Server & Storage Support Team Leader within the Platform Services team you will primarily take the responsibility of running a team of multi-skilled platform engineers. Calling on your technical knowledge and experience of server infrastructure and server operating systems you will lead and manage the team to continue to provide 24/7 2nd and 3rd line support for storage, compute and shared services to our businesses and other IT functions. As we are midway through a migration of our server estate from data centres to AWS cloud, and changing our ways of working to support this, experience in leading a team managing and supporting infrastructure as code in AWS will be beneficial.

Working with the Infrastructure Platform Services Manager you will set and implement policies, procedures and improvement initiatives within the team.

Some accountabilities of the role:

  • To work with the project delivery teams to contribute to non functional requirements, operation acceptance testing and the successfully transition new services into support function
  • Liaising with and managing third party suppliers and service providers, including strong participation in service review meetings
  • Managing incidents, including coordination of internal resources, coordination of any third party suppliers and post-incident reviews (including follow up recommendations and actions).
  • Identify and drive service improvements
  • Release software and services in coordination with the change management team
  • Work with the commercial teams to ensure the software and hardware support contracts are renewed correctly and we are efficient with our licence consumption
