Job Duties:
- Read and interpret work orders and process sheets to determine requirements
- Read and interpret drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances required
- Set-up, adjust and operate band saw to cut foam parts to close tolerances
- Notify management of product discrepancies and equipment malfunctions
- Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on machinery
- Ensure all paperwork remains with the parts/job for proper material identification and traceability
- Mark cutting lines around patterns or templates; follow layout points using squares, rules, and straightedges
- Read job orders to determine dimensions, cutting locations, and quantities to be cut
- Cut material using fabric saws, knives, scissors, or other power tools
- Trim excess material using knives, scissors, or other hand tools, portable or power tools
- Separate materials according to type, color, or lot
- Stack cut items according to job order
- Notify management of product defects such as spots, stains, snags, or unacceptable shape or finish
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner; return tools to the designated tool rack
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within department
- Recognize your role as part of the Company’s Quality Objective
- Follow established policies and procedures support of the Company’s Quality and AS9100 standards
- Act within expected Company standards including Quality/AS9100 initiatives and environmental, health, and safety matters
- Other job related duties as assigned
