Functional Skills English Teacher - PRU, Milton Keynes

We are recruiting on behalf of a dedicated PRU in Milton Keynes that supports students aged 12-18 in their rehabilitation and educational journey. The centre is committed to providing a broad and engaging curriculum that expands students' outlook and increases their future employment chances.

The Role

As a Functional Skills English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality English lessons, helping students develop essential language and literacy skills. Many of the young people in the unit have faced significant challenges in mainstream education, so your ability to create an engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment is key.

You will work closely with the Education Liaison Officer (ELO) and other stakeholders to ensure students have access to further educational opportunities and a smooth transition when they leave the unit.

About You
  • QTS is ideal but not essential - experienced educators without QTS will be considered
  • Strong behaviour management skills - the ability to build rapport and foster a positive learning environment
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and student engagement
  • Experience working with students aged 11-18 is preferred
  • Solid curriculum knowledge of Functional Skills English
