Practice Nurse (RGN) Minehead, Somerset – Permanent, onsite £17.00 - £23.00 per hours – DOE Meridian Business Support is currently recruiting for a Nationwide Client who is seeking a Practice Nurse to work in their GP Practice in Minehead.The successful candidate must have experience of patients with a variety of long-term health conditions, be comfortable with change, able to work autonomously and keen to work in non-traditional care systems. A willingness to learn and develop their skills and undertake training relevant to their role is also essential, with an openness to support the wider nursing team.You will have a passion for supporting patients to be healthy by utilising your skills in health prevention, screening, and early management of long-term health conditions. You will strive to continuously deliver quality and safe services to a high standard. The post-holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent nursing care and to maximise Practice income such as QOF and enhanced service contracts.The successful candidate must:
  • Be a certified Registered Nurse
  • Have a current NMC registration
  • Have knowledge of patients with long term conditions
  • Be familiar with patient group directions (PGD’s) and associated policy
  • Be able to work autonomously
  • Prioritise, organise and manage own workload
  • Have a willingness to learn and develop
  • Be able to work collaboratively with the wider team
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
Practice Nurse Core Responsibilities will involve:
  • Venepuncture
  • Blood pressure
  • ECG
  • Height/Weight/BMI
  • Health Promotion
  • Childhood and Adult Immunisations
  • Wound Care
  • Contraception
  • Cervical Screening
  • Spirometry
  • Long-term condition management such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma
  • Some experience of long-term condition management and cervical screening is essential.
