Pharmacist (on-site)Salary: up to £50,000 annual DoE for the FTE (40 hours)Employment type: PermanentHours Per Week: 30 hrs per week (Part-Time)Meridian Business Support is delighted to be supporting our client in their search for a Pharmacist for their site in Minehead, Somerset.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working within a primary care setting, providing expert support to our GP practices, as well as high quality patient care consultations.The Pharmacist will be an expert advisor for medicines, repeat prescriptions, medicines optimisation and will oversee the pharmaceutical care aspects of the multidisciplinary team workload.This is a part-time job role covering 30 hours per week. Duties • Provide services to patients that are registered with the Hub• Provide information and support to patients on the following: o Medicines Information – General advice requests o Pharmaceutical advice o Repeat Prescriptions• Provide support to our primary care sites and assist with prescribing and high-risk drug management audits as service requirements• Use critical thinking and effective communication skills to assess accurately the caller’s needs (establish the level of information required, their existing level of knowledge and other issues including social, cultural and economic factors)• Prescribe appropriately for patients requiring urgent prescriptions using access to summary care record information to ensure accurate re-prescribing• Communicate information and pharmaceutical advice to callers in a clear and understandable manner, adapted to the needs of the individual• Identify and appropriately action clinical risks for health and medicines queries in line with professional responsibility• Identify child and adult protection issues arising from health and medicines information calls, and action these in line with protocols• Record in a timely manner a true and accurate record of the information and advice given, and to complete an electronic record of the call event using the appropriate clinical system• Actively access specialist information by using electronic databases i.e., BNF etc. ensuring accurate advice is given at all times.• Actively communicate with colleagues to assist service deliveryRequirements • Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)• Have successfully completed CPPE General practice pharmacist pathway• Be a Non-Medical Prescriber• Maintain professional and clinical competence through mechanisms of continuing professional development• Have extensive experience of working within a primary care setting• Be able to provide high quality patient care consultations• Be able to effectively manage workload and support our services with Pharmacy related tasksBenefits• 25 days / 200 hours / 5 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays, which rises with the length of service (pro-rata for part time)• NHS Pension with 20.6% Employer Contribution• Extra day of leave per year for work anniversary• Enhanced Maternity, Maternity/Paternity Support, Adoption pay• Continued personal and professional development• Employee Assistance Program run by awarding winning Health Assured• Eye care scheme – free eye test plus a contribution towards glasses• Cycle to work scheme• Access to NHS DiscountsIf you are interested and would like more information regarding the role please contact Nikki Stephenson on Meridian Business Support is a recruitment specialist acting on behalf of our client as an Employment Agency for thisvacancy.
