About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Nurse to join our private hospital in South Kent, near Cranbrook. The hospital has been rated OUTSTANDING by the CQC and is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control. As the IPC Nurse, you will lead the hospital's IPC program, identifying and managing risks to minimize infection for patients, staff, and visitors. Working closely with teams across Housekeeping, Governance, Procurement, and Clinical departments, you'll ensure IPC remains a key focus in all operations.

Duties and responsibilities:

As the Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of the hospital's IPC program, ensuring all risks are identified and managed effectively.
  • Working alongside the Clinical Governance Lead to ensure the IPC work plan is implemented and milestones are achieved.
  • Providing expert advice on IPC-related issues, ensuring policies are up-to-date and in line with national guidelines.
  • Managing IPC-related incidents, including investigation, reporting, and sharing learning outcomes.
  • Supporting and mentoring staff through training activities to ensure effective delivery of IPC programs.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a strong passion for infection prevention and control. You will need to have:

  • A post-registration qualification in Infection Prevention & Control.
  • A Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration with no restrictions
  • Degree-level education in a relevant field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with staff at all levels.
  • Experience in managing complex situations and providing specialist IPC advice.
  • A teaching/mentoring qualification to support staff education on IPC practices.
