Sous Chef - Navigation Tavern
The Navigation Tavern is a successful Gastro Pub located in the heart of West Yorkshire, known for its canal side location, cask & craft ales and fresh home cooked food. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our team and help us continue our growth and potential expansion.
About the Role:
As Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency, and managing the kitchen team effectively. You will be responsible for:
Food Preparation: Preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes according to recipes and standards.
Team Leadership: Supervising and training kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth workflow.
Menu Planning: Contributing to menu development and specials, staying abreast of culinary trends.
Quality Control: Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Inventory Management: Assisting with ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies.
Kitchen Operations: Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or Pub.
Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in food preparation techniques and equipment.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
