About the role:

Astute's Renewables team is working exclusively with a well-established energy from waste business who are fully committed to contributing to a more sustainable world. They are looking to recruit an experienced anaerobic digestion Plant Manager for their site in South London.

The Plant Manager will play an important part in helping to ensure the plant continues to perform to a high standard and support the business with its growth and investment in sustainability. The role comes with a negotiable basic salary, bonus and other company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for:
  • Optimising process plant operations
  • Managing feedstock processing and planning
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of plant efficiency, trends, and analysing the data
  • Providing solutions to technical variances
  • Site maintenance and coordination of PPM
  • Managing external contractors when necessary
  • Drafting RAMS and being accountable for HSE
  • Managing the relationships with external bodies, such as the Environmental Agency
  • Managing a team of controllers/Operators with varying experience/qualifications and continue to upskill them
  • Capable of first line mechanical maintenance and raising more complex faults to an on-call team
  • Other duties as required



Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • WAMITAB AD hugely desirable
  • Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is an advantage



Personal skills:
The Plant Manager role would suit someone who is:
  • Experienced managing in AD or a similar processing environment such as EFW, Biomass etc
  • Plant Operator experience (telehandler, loading shovel, excavator)
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • A mentality towards continuous improvement and a genuine passion for the industry
