An inspiring SEN school for pupils with Social, Emotional Mental Health Needs require an English Teacher for their Secondary Phase to join them full time and long term from April. The role will be made permanent for the right applicant after a successful term or two of teaching.

All pupils have an EHCP and have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education therefore, you will be a resilient teacher with a strong commitment to raising standards promoting a positive school culture.

You will have the opportunity to work within a dedicated and successful team positively impacting on the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people within the area through the school’s trauma-informed approach.

The Head of School is seeking a teacher who has:

  • An excellent teaching record (rated Good to Outstanding)
  • Experience of the use of restorative practices and effective behaviour management skills as well as good rapport with challenging pupils.
  • Ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping
  • Ability to teach flexibly, innovatively and responsively in a challenging environment
  • Evidence of ability to successfully manage and support pupils with SEN/SEMH
  • The ability to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning for both individuals and small groups with high quality outcomes for all pupils

To be successful, you must have the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant degree
  • DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a new check
  • The right to work in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)
