Job Title: SEN Nurture Primary Class Teacher Location: Mitcham Full-Time: 5 days per week Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus parent evenings Salary: Teacher salaries are determined by the national pay scales Start Date: ASAP End Date: On-going Contract Type (temp/perm/temp to perm): Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent School Type: An independent special school located in Mitcham, London, catering to primary-aged students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. SEN Needs: ADHD, ASD, SEMH. Vacancy Details: As a Primary Nurture Teacher for students in a Primary PRU, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting pupils with diverse Special Educational Needs (SEN). These include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges (SEMH), and other associated needs. This role involves creating and delivering tailored nurture-focused lessons to support the individual developmental and academic progress of each pupil. You will design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that foster emotional wellbeing, social skills, and academic progress. Lessons will be tailored to accommodate individual learning needs and promote a positive, nurturing classroom environment. A key aspect of the role will be building students confidence, encouraging meaningful peer interactions, and supporting their transition back into mainstream or alternative educational settings. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS 路 QTS or equivalent 路 Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST 路 Hold Right to Work in the UK 路 Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application 路 Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
