Role Description Mental Health Support Worker

Gray Healthcare are recruiting for mental health support workers within Mold areato support a lady in her twenties who has a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and PTSD who lives independently in her own home receiving 1:1 support 12 hours a day. The lady we are supporting likes keeping themselves busy. You must suggest various activities as this can have a positive impact on their mental wellbeing. They enjoying watching Netflix and listening to music to keep their mind busy and may require support with household cleaning routines such as hoovering. They will be supported by a female team on day shifts.

Mental Health Support Worker Required Skills and Experience

  • Social care experience, ideally within mental health and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder
  • Full UK Driving License (Essential)
  • Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months.We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references

Hours

24-hour day contracts two x12 hour shift per week

Or

36-hour day contracts 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Induction and Training

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
